The magical world of Isabelle de Borchgrave

I came across the most charming book while browsing through a bookstore the other day.

Isabelle de Borchgrave is a belgian artist who creates the most beautiful
life-size historical costumes entirely from paper.

Inspired by 1545 portrait of Eleanora and
her son Giovanni de' Medici by Agnolo
Bronzino.

Inspired by a 1599 portrait by the studio
of Nicholas Hilliard at Hardwick Hall.

Detail of a a paper figure inspired by a 1635 portrait of a
neoploitan woman by Massimo Stanzione.

Artists at work in Isabelle's studio in Belgium.
