My thoughtful neighbors Cyndi and Dave brought me
this fabulous hibiscus from the Dupont nursery on
Bayou Plaquemine in southeast Louisiana (cajun country).
Quoting from their website, "since retiring from the florist
business in 1955, Bobby Dupont has been on an unrelenting
mission to create new and dramatic cultivars of tropical hibiscus."
The Who Dat hibiscus is named for the Saints fans' mantra
leading up to what was for us, their momentous Super Bowl
win. "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints ?" We all
chanted it madly throughout that season and it reached a
fever pitch on the game night.
